I was asked to create a brand identity for server security company, Crypthive. The client didn’t have a focus and it was up to me to create the overall brand feeling. My approach was to create both an attack and defence aspect whilst keeping an overall technology feeling.

The symbol takes the hexagons from a bee’s hive. A bee’s hive is a structure that acts as a safe point for the insects, something that Crypthive provides to it’s customers. The hexagons are encased in a structure that takes inspiration from the international biohazard symbol, a symbol that symbolises warning and danger. I felt that this provided the perfect shape to enforce the attack aspect. The shape of the structure follows the hexagons to help represent an overall technology theme.

The secondary graphical element takes the hexagon from the symbol and reduces it in size as it travels. This is to represent the the companies approach to its full on protection, no matter how big or small the threat. The hexagons are adaptive and can fit together in multiple ways to create patterns static iconography and motion iconography.
